Only five examples of the remarkable Mercedes-Benz Edition 1 CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake are coming to Australia and seeing the metallic blue version on display is itself worth the price of admission to this week’s Australian International Motor Show in Sydney.
The regular CLS Shooting Brake range goes on-sale in December but the Edition 1 AMG version is very special – not least because of the extra grunt from the 5.5-litre bi-turbo V8 engine which boasts 410kW/800Nm. Drive is via the AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed automatic transmission with ‘race Start’ function.
Inside the magnificent AMG interior boasts the race-style AMG steering wheel with alcantar grips and two-tone leather sports seats.
Out back, the 1550-litre cargo area looks like a Superyacht deck lined with superbly-finished American Cherry timber.
