Mercedes-Benz has confirmed a production version of its beautifully styled CLS wagon – called the ‘CLS Shooting Brake’ – will be launched in 2012.
The magnificent show car drew rave reviews when it first appeared earlier this year at the Auto China show.
‘Benz has confirmed the stunning four-door wagon CLS derivative will be manufactured at its plant in Sindelfingen, Germany.
Combining the glorious looks of the CLS – the long bonnet, narrow, frameless windows, the CLS Shooting Brake seamlessly integrates a wagon rear while maintaining the sloping coupe-like roof which is a CLS highlight. Inside is the expected CLS sumptuous luxury.
‘Shooting Breaks’ were originally conceived in Britain in the 1960s. They were exclusive crossover vehicles for well-heeled Brits to take when hunting and featured interior luxury with extended space for hunting equipment.
