Jaguar is taking its 75th birthday seriously; having just announced the XKR Special Edition model, the company has now confirmed 10 of the XK Coupe 75th Anniversary Editions are headed downunder.
Priced at $193,500, the 75th Anniversary XK Coupe is available in just three colours – Indigo Blue, Ultimate Black and Liquid Silver. Even that price is a throwback to Jaguar’s history – 1935 was the year in which the first Jaguar was sold.
Externally, the limited edition models feature 20-inch ‘Kalimnos’ alloy wheels, chrome side vents and chrome tailpipe finishers.
Inside there is a ’75 Years’ badge and bright finish pedals. Other specifications are unchanged with the beautiful soft grain leather seats (heated and cooled) and the Bowers & Wilkins 525-watt audio system featuring Kevlar mid-range speakers and unique aluminium tweeters.
No mechanical changes with the glorious 5.0-litre V8 delivering 283kW/515Nm and acceleration from zero to 100km/h in just 5.5 seconds.
The XK Coupe is a key part in the story of Jaguar’s comeback. Clearly now producing some of the best cars in the world, the ‘Big Cat’ is again a real force in the global automotive landscape.
