Two of Germany’s superbrands – Volkswagen and Adidas – have joined forces to produce the Volkswagen Golf GTI Adidas.

2010 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF 5D HATCHBACK GTI

Only available as a five-door hatchback, the Volkswagen Golf GTI Adidas is stickered at $45,990.

Inside, the leather/cloth sports seats are black and red with the trademark Adidas three stripes and the gearshift is – like the original Golf GTI – a dimpled golf ball design (Adidas owns the TaylorMade golf brand).

Externally, apart from the Adidas badges on the B-pillars, the special Golf GTI runs black, five-spoke ‘Serron’ alloy wheels (Serron is the name of a race track in Finland). There are also dark-tinted rear lights and bi-xenon headlights with dynamic cornering lights.

Volkswagen Golf GTI Adidas is only available in two paint colours – ‘Candy White’ and ‘Tornado Red’.

No mechanical changes for the turbocharged 155kw/280Nm 2.0-litre engine
