With global sales of 8,029,222 vehicles, 2011 was third consecutive record year for the powerful Nissan-Renault conglomerate. In fact last year was the first time the Japanese-French brands bettered 8 million sales.
Nissan sales were up by 14.4 per cent to 4,669,981, Renault was up by 3.6 per cent to 2,722,062 and Lada sales rose by 10.9 per cent to 637,179. All-up, the Nissan-Renault alliance captured a global market share of 10.7 per cent (up from 10.3 per cent in 2010).
Most growth came in North America and emerging markets Russia and China.
This Renault-Nissan alliance was formed in 1999.
