Renault’s Zoe electric hatchback has just completed 1618kms in 24-hours non-stop running at the Aubevoye speed ring in Normandy, France. That beats the previous world record for electric cars by some 25 per-cent.
Helping get the job done was the new Cameleon fast charging system (compatible with any socket and power level) which provides 80 per-cent battery capacity in under 30 minutes. All-up the Renault Zoe was re-charged 18 times in the 24-hour record run.
“This is a superb technical and human adventure,” enthused Bernard Dumondel, Renault electric vehicles chief. “This victory is the result of a joint commitment to showcasing the quality of Renault electric vehicles.”
