Priced from $50,990 (manual) or $52,990 (automatic), the High Roof model has the starring role in the new Renault Master van range (including cab chassis models) and is the first with rear-wheel-drive (dual rear wheels).

With 17-cubic metres of cargo space, the new High Roof Renault Master affords 36 per-cent more than the largest front-drive regular roof master and 500kgs more payload at 2134kgs.

Power comes from Renault’s 110kW/350Nm 2.3-litre turbo-diesel driving through either a six-speed manual transmission or a new six-speed automated ‘Quickshift’ transmission sourced from ZF.

Inside, driver comfort is boosted by the standard fitment of a Isringhausen suspension seat.

Wheelbase is the same as the current long-wheelbase Master at 4332mm but the rear overhang has been extended to 1674mm allowing an internal load length of 4383mm. cargo bay width is 1765mm and cargo bay height is 2048mm (overall height is 2808mm).

Rear doors open 270-degrees for easy fork-lift loading and the sliding side door is 1270mm wide and 1684mm high. A second side door is optional (both can be ordered with or without windows).

On the options list are a ‘Safety Pack’ (including dual side airbags, alarm, fog lights, auto headlights and rain-sensing wipers) and a ‘Premium Pack’ (adds satellite navigation, reversing camera, and extra storage compartments).

With a 4500kgs Gross Vehicle Mass, drivers with only a regular passenger car license can drive the High Roof Renault Master – making it ideal for camper vans.
