Renault has added to its Australian model range with the launch of the handsome Fluence sedan, priced from $22,990.
The Fluence shares the same chassis as the new Renault Megane Hatch – including the 103kW/195Nm four-cylinder petrol engine. Suspension is the usual contemporary European design – MacPherson strut front/torsion beam rear.
Drive is to the front wheels via either a six-speed manual or CVT automatic.
Renault Fluence is available in two model grades – entry-level Dynamique and range-topping Privilege (the latter scores an electric glass sunroof, leather interior, satellite navigation, upgraded audio and 17-inch alloy wheels amongst its extra kit). Dual-zone climate control air-conditioning, six airbags, ABS, ESP and Renault Smart Card keyless entry are standard across the range.
Renault Fluence is nicely styled and is one of the larger small sedans (overall length 4,618mm) and affords a handily-sized 530-litre boot.
Renault Australia is tipping the Fluence to be a key player in hopes for increased sales volume – plans are for the stylish newcomer to rank alongside the new Megane hatch and Koleos compact SUV as the most popular local Renaults.
