Renault’s such a tease, but then so is any other automaker with something up their sleeve for a high profile motor show reveal. But perhaps Renault is more inclined toward the practice, you know, being French and all - just look at how they long they dragged out the Alpine A110’s transition to from concept to mass production.
Speaking of which, Renault’s latest showcase is something equally slick, and equally desirable. Actually, we won’t really know until they let the world have a better look, but a peek via a rotating shot of its sculpted hind promises plenty.
Honestly, if its anything like their last attempt at wowing the the motor show attendees and observers, we’re in for something a bit special. However, the Trezor’s almost flat profile and unique hydraulic canopy would be a tough act to follow in terms of sheer wow-factor, so let’s not set any unrealistic expectations.
Aside from the visual flourishes, the Symbioz concept is also meant to convey what Renault’s vision for the future of the car insofar as “mobility and lifestyle” are concerned. Additionally, it will no doubt feature the automaker’s (more accurately Renault-Nissan’s) most evolved blueprint for a fully electric powertrain and vision for autonomous vehicles.
If you were wondering about that name, it’s obviously derived from the word symbiosis or “‘sumbiōsis’, the Ancient Greek word for ‘living together”, alluding to the car being able to “function harmoniously and in permanent interaction with its environment, road network infrastructure and the digital lifestyles of its occupants.”
The letter ‘Z’ as the final letter of its name is a nod to the all-electric Z.E tech that Renault somewhat loosely attaches to their electrified cars, both production or otherwise. As usual, we expect there to likely be a couple of other teasers to follow this initial brief look, but we’ll have to wait for full unveil on September 12th to have a gander at the car’s juicier details.
