How do you make one of the world’s most stunning compact SUVs even more stunning? You launch a convertible version of course.
And that’s what Range Rover has done with the Evoque and the convertible lineup launches locally very sharply priced from $84,835 to $92,410.
Naturally the full-automated fabric roof when in place provides the distinctive silhouette of the hardtop model and, when folded, lays flush with the bodywork for a clean look.
The roof contains an acoustic layer so when closed, the interior remains Range Rover quiet.
Roof operation takes just 21 seconds and can be done at speeds up to 50km/h.
Cargo volume is not recued and remains a handy 251-litres.
And of course rollover safety is provided by deployable roll bars under the rear bodywork which deploy in 90 milliseconds.
Petrol power comes from the Si4 2.0-litre turbo with 177kW/340Nm and diesel comes from the new Ingenium range.
On the inside, Range Rover Evoque convertible debuts new high-resolution 10.2-inch touchscreen with the next generation Land Rover InControl Touch Pro system.
