Ahead of the marque’s launch in Australia later this year, GM’s German brand Opel has been named the ‘2012 Most Innovative Automotive Brand’ at the ‘Plus X’ technology awards.
Factors considered in the Plus X awards include material and production quality, ergonomic and environmental characteristics, sustainability and long-lasting value.
The 2012 award is actually Opel’s second nomination in the Plus X awards.
This year eight Plus X awards were handed out to various Opel products including the sporty new Astra GTC and all-new Mokka compact SUV.
The racy Astra GTC is included in the Australian lineup scheduled for launch in September. Also headed our way are the Corsa (three and five-door), Astra hatchback and wagon and the mid-size Insignia in sedan and wagon derivatives.
