‘101 Not Out’ – that’s the number of awards handed out to the astonishing Range Rover Evoque – the British brand’s first compact SUV.
Evoque’s latest accolade camE last week at the New Your Auto Show with the award of the ‘World Design Car Of The Year 2012’.
The 66 World Car jurors from 25 countries decide on the World Design Car Of The Year award from a shortlist determined by five world design experts. This year that shortlist amounted to 46 nominations and in taking the gong, the Range Rover Evoque saw-off competition which included the Volkswagen Up! and Citroen DS5.
“True to the concept car it derives from, it is a contemporary automotive design masterpiece. Besides not having equals in the markets, it is able to deliver the Land Rover DNA is a more compact, sporty bodystyle. A premium product without the bad habit of showing off,” revealed Auto & Design magazine managing editor Silvia Baruffaldi, one of the five who created the shortlist of contenders.
