The first full production examples of Mitsubishi’s long-awaited i-MIEV electric vehicle have arrived in Brisbane to commence ‘real world’ testing.
Mitsubishi will put the electric cars through their paces with fleet customers, government departments and motoring journalists.
The i-MIEV has been sold in Japan since July 2009 and has been designed as a city commuter vehicle offering a top speed of 130km/h and a single battery charge range of 160 kilometres.
Mitsubishi Australia’s CEO, Robert McEniry said: “The arrival of these vehicles brings the possibility of having large numbers of zero drive-time emission vehicles on our roads one step closer to reality.”
