Mercedes-Benz has rounded-out its C-Class AMG squad with the launch of the C 63 AMG Coupe. The stunning AMG-V8 powered C-Class coupe is stickered at $154,800 and joins two other hugely desirable models in the portfolio – the sedan an estate versions.
Like earlier AMG-tuned C-Class models, it’s the combination of massive under-bonnet performance with the compact body and nimble chassis which is the allure of this special high-performance German. In the latest versions, that means the 336Kw/600Nm, AMG 6.3-litre V8 driving through the AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed automatic transmission..
Acceleration is blistering – zero to 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds – while fuel economy is no less impressive at 12.1l/100kms.
Opt for the AMG Performance Package and that output grows to 358Kw, knocking a further tenth from zero to 100km/h.
That Performance Package also brings composite front brake discs, carbon fibre bootlid spoiler and the superb Alcantara AMG sports steering wheel.
Not that the ‘regular’ C 63 AMG lacks for anything in the sports/luxury/technology departments. Of course there’s the usual AMG extras for the body and interior as well as the AMG sports suspension and alloy wheels.
So here’s a lineup that takes some beating:
C 63 AMG Saloon $152,800
C 63 AMG Coupe $154,800
C 63 AMG Estate $154,800
For the AMG Performance Package, add $14,900
