Mazda Updates The CX-5

Mazda’s top-selling CX-5 – a Car Showroom favourite mid-size SUV – has scored some significant updates heading into the new year.

Headlining the technical changes are revised tuning for the dampers, bushes and anti-roll bars to provide a more compliant ride and there’s a news straight-shift gear-lever for the six-speed automatic transmission.
 
Mid-grade Mazda CX-5 Maxx Sport adds an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and adds the optional Safety Pack ($1,490) which includes Blind Spot Monitoring and Smart City Brake Support. Range-topping Akera adds the Smart City Brake Support function as standard – the first Mazda to boast this feature as standard.

Two new paint colours debut – Blue Reflex Mica and Deep Crystal Blue Mica – and Maxx Sport, Grand Touring and Akera model grades adopt a new silver finish for their alloy wheels. 
 
AS well, Grand Touring and Akera get a memory function for the drivers’ seat plus six-way electronic adjustment for the passengers’ seat.
 
Prices for Mazda CX-5 Maxx and Maxx Sport models don’t change, Grand Touring goes up by just $400 and Akera rises by $800.
