Of particular relevance to Australian buyers at the Los Angeles Auto show are the updated Mazda6 and CX-5 – both of which are heading downunder early in the new year.
Styling changes for the top-selling Mazda CX-5 are subtle – at the front there’s a new grille and fog lights and DRLs integrated into the headlights.
It’s a similar story inside with the updated Mazda CX-5 gaining some new trim colours and highlights plus an electronic park brake, revised instruments and centre console and the MZD connect system.
On the technology front, the updated Mazda CX-5 has available active cruise control, lane-keeping assist, driver attention alert, blind spot monitoring, smart city brake and LED headlights.
Underneath, Mazda has retuned the suspension and added extra insulation for a 10-per-cent improvement in NVH.
The first facelift for the Mazda6 is more extensive with the updated model scoring major changes inside highlighted by a totally new dashboard with a Mercedes-Benz and BMW style freestanding centre screen for the infotainment system.
On the styling front, again look for subtle changes to the front-end with a revised grille, fog lights and DRLs.
