We’ve often thought the visual appeal of Toyota’s hybrid Prius would be enhanced by larger wheels.
Tah-Dah! Toyota has added five-spoke 17-inch alloys to the Prius options list.
Entry-level Prius can be ordered with the bigger wheels as part of a package that includes satellite navigation and IPA (intelligent park assist). That adds $5,600 to the $39,900 retail price ($45,500 with the wheels, sat-nav and IPA).
Range-topping Prius i-Tech is priced at $53,500 but if you opt for the 17-inch alloys, the solar moonroof is deleted so the price actually decreases to $52,000.
