Prestige car makers are making a habit of revealing some of the world’s most exotic vehicles at this time of the year at the annual Pebble Beach (California) Concours d’Elegance. Bentley unveiled it Mulsanne model at Pebble in 2009 and now the British icon has surprised again by revealing first details of the magnificent Mulsanne Convertible.
Enthusiasts have been quick to point out that convertibles proliferate in the lineup of Bentley’s best known cars – back to the 3-litre race cars of the 1920s to later classics like the Park Ward S1 Drophead Coupe and more modern examples like the Corniche and Azure models.
As shown in these sketches, the open-top Bentley Mulsanne Convertible (called a ‘Concept’ at this stage) will be breathtakingly elegant.
Graceful and sporty, the Bentley Mulsanne Convertible oozes the brand’s hallmark style with its powerful flanks and sculptured lines.
Inside the four occupants will enjoy a cabin exudes a fresh new Bentley ambience themed on the interiors of high-performance boats but of course wrapped in the traditional luxury, exotic materials and craftsmanship which provide the British brand’s DNA.
Announcing the gorgeous new addition to his company’s lineup, Bentley chief Wolfgang Durheimer said: “The modern, luxurious, high-tech Mulsanne saloon provides a perfect foundation on which to create the world’s most elegant convertible. The Convertible Concept will extend the appeal of the Mulsanne family, while enhancing the profile of the Bentley brand, particularly in new and emerging markets.”
