Coinciding with the Beijing Motor Show, Bentley has opened a massive new dealership in the Chinese city – its largest Asian dealership – an unveiled a limited edition version of the Mulsanne to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of HM The Queen.
It’s strategic timing – while the Volkswagen-owned Bentley brand remains distinctly ‘British’, the fact is China is now the marque’s largest market, racking-up a staggering 1,664 sales in the first quarter of this year.
Only 60 examples of the limited edition, twin-turbocharged V8 Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition will be made – one for each year of Her Majesty’s reign.
Among the unique features are two highly polished treadplates with the ‘Bentley Mulliner England’ and ‘Diamond Jubilee Edition’ logos, bespoke embroidery with gold stitching for the headrests and veneered picnic table in the rear with a gold overlay depicting the royal carriage and luxurious hide cushions with the same logo.
Externally the Bentley Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee models are distinguished by two Bentley ‘B’ badges on the D-pillars and unique paint and leather colours in various shades of the Union Jack’s red, white and blue.
