If ever a car looked like it would eat you, this would be it.

2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera – TAG Heuer Edition

We’ve remarked before and will happily remark again that Aston Martin’s newest addition to the family, the DBS Superleggera, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cars that the company has ever produced, if it isn’t one of the most beautiful cars ever made. The last thing we’d do is screw with an automotive masterpiece but, perhaps mercifully, Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer has no such reservations.

The Swiss have decided to work with Aston Martin and produce no less than 50 exclusive special edition cars, all sharing the same specifications, which will be offered alongside a limited-run set of watches which have not yet been officially detailed by TAG. The cars however have been fully specced out, which we’ll be exploring.

For starters, all cars will be finished in this deep Monaco Black, featuring carbon-fibre bits and pieces like the roof, for mirror caps, rear spoiler, and diffuser. There are also black alloys offset with Pirelli P-Zero rubbers featuring a unique red sidewall line, which matches the red brake callipers rather neatly.

Step inside and the red-on-black theme continues, with red piping & contrast stitching throughout the leather and Alcantara cabin. There are TAG Heuer logos embroidered into the seatbacks, while there’s also triangular-quilting on the seats, door cards and centre armrest too, just to make it al feel a little bit prettier. And that red stitching continues onto other surfaces too like the sun visors & instrument binnacle hood, but that’s been offset by some mineral-like trim pieces on the doors that neither TAG nor Aston went into detail about.

Neither company has talked about the price or technical specifications of this limited-run model, though we suspect that if you must ask (about the former), then you’re not currently in a position to enjoy the latter. However, the standard DBS Superleggera is nothing to scoff at and in fact, between that and this, this writer would rather take a vanilla one in pearl red, thank you very much.
