Renault has released these images of its all-new rear-engined Twingo city car which has its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in a couple of weeks. The all-new Twingo is a collaboration between Renault and Daimler and also forms the basis of the next Smart (two and four-seat).

Moving to a rear engine has major benefits for a city car according to Renault – improved turning circle and enhanced interior space just for starters. The all-new model is also the first Twingo four-door.

Styling sees some cues from the iconic, rear-engined Renault 5 – the rear window and prominent shoulders – while elsewhere there are the normal Renault ‘standards’ – the usual grille with latest-look Renault logo and the normal Twingo large headlights gains LED DRLs.
