Headlines are a freshened look, new ‘Ingenium’ diesel engines with fuel consumption as low as 4.4l/100kms and Jaguar Land Rover’s first full-LED headlights.

European on-sale is expected early next year.

Those new LED headlights are the cornerstone of the Evoque’s updated looks – slimmer lights, new front bumper and two new grille designs afford a sportier appearance.

As well the bonnet vents from the sporty three-door model now appear on five-door HSE Dynamic and Autobiography models.

There are three new alloy wheel designs a couple of bodykits and a wide range of colours (again including contrasting roof colours) which Range Rover says will provide Evoque buyers more bespoke options.

Inside look for new seats and door trims, more soft-touch materials and a new instrument binnacle.

There’s also a new 8.0-inch ‘InControl’ colour touchscreen infotainment system and a hands-free tailgate.

Massage seats are optional on some models and two new colours (“Lunar Ice’ and ‘Vintage Tan’) bring to 13 the available interior colourways.

While the 177kW Si4 petrol engine continues, the focus will be on Range Rover Evoque’s new all-new all-aluminium ‘Ingenium’ TD4 turbo-diesel which will be available in 110kW and 132kW versions.

Creations of Land Rover’s new £500 million engine manufacturing facility in the West Midlands, the TD4 engine is some 30kgs lighter than the previous generation and the 110kW model returns fuel consumption of 4.4l/100kms while the 132kW version is good for 4.8l/100kms.

For off-road going, the 2016 Range Rover Evoque adopts the ‘All-Terrain Progress Control’ system already available on Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models.

On the safety technology front the 2016 Range Rover Evoque adds standard Autonomous Emergency Braking and Attention Assist Estimation while Lane-Keeping Assist is optional.

Local specifications and prices are still being determined.
