Hyundai’s brilliant i-Load commercial van range has deservedly collected a swag of praise from the international motoring media.
Things are even better ‘Downunder’ where former Formula One Grand Prix engineer Tristan Timmins, now Hyundai Australia’s Commercial Vehicle Business Development Manager, has developed a very clever range of fitout options for the i-Load to make things considerably easier.
So if you’re considering a new van, Car Showroom definitely recommends the i-Load for inclusion on your shopping list – you’ll find Tristan and his team much more flexible towards your needs than some of the German vans.
The i-Load starts at just $29,990 for the standard van powered by the 129 kW, 228Nm 2.4-litre petrol engine.
Hyundai’s crew van version of the i-Load has seats for six and in petrol form is priced at $31,99.
The same configurations are also sold with a 125kW/392Nm 2.5-litre diesel powerplant and retail for $34,990 and $36,490.
The petrol models are only sold with a five-speed manual transmission while the diesel version includes an optional automatic for an extra $2,000.
The load area has a standard lift-back door however twin ‘barn’ or ‘swing’ doors can be ordered for an extra $550.
Styling is a matter of personal preference but for what it’s worth, we like the looks of the I-Load – it’s modern and contemporary (as vans go) and actually looks more like a genuine American van than some of the opposition products.
