The annual Auto Mobil International show is underway in Leipzig, Germany and Volkswagen has shown three interesting new vehicles which at this stage are exclusive to the German market.
Thirty years since the first Volkswagen Scirocco GTS appeared, Volkswagen has crafted a new model which shares the bold full-body racing stripes of the original.
The racy Volkswagen Scirocco GTS runs the 155kW 2.0-litre TSI engine and is kitted-out with unique front and rear bumpers, side sills and black 18-inch alloy wheels which highlight the red-painted brake calipers. Completing the external aupgrades are a diffuser and roff spoiler from the Scirocco R.
Inside is a sports interior trimeded in red and black and the latest version of Volkswagen’s iconic ‘golf ball’ dimpled gear lever (fitted not only to the original Golf GTI but also the 1982 Scirocco GTS.
Volkswagen has also given the stylish CC four-door coupe the sports treatment with an R Line model. Changes include 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, deeper side sills and a unique front end with an all-new bumper and some extra chorme for the radiator grille and fog light surrounds.
Inside the Volkswagen CC R Line features R Line sills and a unique R Line sports steering wheel.
Volkswagen Polo fans will be interested in the CrossPolo (not sold outside mainland Europe) which is a toughened Polo with a raised ride height, thick bumpers and roof rails. In Leipzig Volkswagen is showing a CrossPolo ‘Urban White’ which is highlighted by a special ‘Oryx White With Mother Of Pearl’ paint colour. This is offset by black roof rails, and door mirrors plus dark window tinting and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the Volkswagen Cross Polo Urban White scores a black roof liner (from the Polo GTI) with contrasting silver stitching for the seats and silver trim accents.
