Volkswagen’s updated MY16 vehicles are locked, loaded and arriving in dealerships in coming weeks.
Specifications are improved across the board and prices are sometimes up and sometimes down.
Headlining the improvements, all Polo, Golf, Jetta and Tiguan models will have as standard a reversing camera and the ‘App-Connect’ USB interface for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink as well as an improved 6.5-inch high resolution touchscreen.
Comfortline grades add satellite navigation.
Polo GTI scores electronically adjustable dampers (Sport Select suspension).
In the Volkswagen Golf range, there’s some new alloy wheels, more power for the 1.4 TSI engine (now 92kW), Vienna leather and heated from seats for Highline and ‘R’ grades, Bi-Xenon headlights and DRLs for GTI.
On the pricing front the best news is the Golf GTI – down by $1,000 - $2,000.
