Some details have emerged via the U.K. on the updated Mazda MX-5 sports car which goes on-sale later this year.
There are styling changes inside and out and mechanical improvements to lift the driving dynamics of the two-seat sports car already regarded as one the world’s best drivers’ cars.
Eagle-eye Mazda MX-5 enthusiasts will pick the sportier front-end look which also delivers improved aerodynamics. There’s also a new paint colour – ‘Dolphin Grey Mica’.
Inside trim highlights and the steering wheel are new.
Mechanically, Mazda has given the new MX-5 a re-configured brake booster for sharper pedal response and also upgraded the throttle pedal response. Combined these two changes will be appreciated when Mazda MX-5 owners head to their favourite section of twisty roads.
And while the appearance of the bonnet is unchanged, the new Mazda MX-5 gains an active pedestrian protection system which raises the trailing edge on impact to provide greater space between the bonnet and the engine.
