The Koleos SUV is now officially confirmed by Renault to be debuting at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show.
After a brief video teaser showing just a very limited portion of the car yesterday (the headlamps and nothing more), Renault has followed that up with a full picture of what we can expect to see at the upcoming Beijing Auto Show next week – we suspected too that a reveal there was being planned.
The French automaker says that it the new Koleos will “round out its high-end range with a brand new D-segment SUV”. The China debut does play a strategic role in Renault’s plans for the Koleos as their newly opened plant in Wuhan will be tasked with manufacturing the model for sale in the People’s Republic.
We’ll still have to wait until the show floor opens on April 25th and for Renault to release some confirmed specifications, but at this point it is rather obvious that the all-new Koleos does share quite a bit with the Nissan X-Trail just as its smaller stable mate, the Kadjar, shares its underpinnings with the Nissan Qashqai.
