Just what the hell is it?
With just a fortnight away before the doors of the Geneva motor show open for the 89th time, carmakers are adding as much fuel into the hype-machine as possible, to get fans & industry observers excited for another edition of the world’s most prestigious international auto show. Subaru is no different here but, their history of coming out with cars that seem to evolve at a glacial pace means than even a brand-new car from them can still induce yawns.
But this concept is a bit different. They’re calling it the ‘Viziv Adrenaline,’ and while the former word is something we’ve heard before, the latter is not. It doesn’t appear to link to any existing model in the Subaru lineup, either current or historical, and the form factor that’s being touted is markedly different from anything we’ve seen from the brand before.
*"Enhance," they said.
There’s a 3-door body style & high ground-clearance, suggesting a small but capable SUV. There’s a muscular hood (not sure why because we know there’s a Boxer mill in there), prominent wheelarches, and sharp LED daytime running lights. There’s even cameras for side-mirrors, though that’s just par for the course when it comes to concept cars.
Viziv (Subaru-speak for ‘Car We Will Put Into Production Shortly’) has usually been affixed to concept cars that have very quickly gestated into models you or I could buy. As such, are we perhaps seeing a preview of a new small SUV by the company, to sit below the XV? Time will tell, so be sure to stay tuned to CarShowroom as we bring you live updates from Geneva as they come.
