Subaru’s outstanding new Outback model has received the 2010 Ward’s Auto Interior of the year Award in North America.
“For years the focus on safety and functionality has given us drab, uninspired vehicle interiors,” explained Ward’s AutoWorld Editor-In-Chief, Drew Winter. “This years winners show style and original design is becoming as important inside the vehicles as it already is to the sheet metal outside. The new Subaru outback is an efficiently designed package that delivers more room for passengers, more cargo space and an extra 10.16cms of rear seat legroom compared to the old Outback.”
Ward’s eight editors evaluated 40 vehicles for aesthetics, design harmony, comfort, driver information, ergonomics, fit/finish, materials, safety and overall value.
Handily priced from $37,990 in Australia, the latest Outback is powered by a range of four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol engines plus a 2.0-litre diesel. With excellent levels of standard equipment and Subaru’s all-wheel-drive dynamics, it’s one very impressive compact
that’s ideal for family buyers.
