Subaru has confirmed an optional automatic transmission for diesel-powered Outback models.
The continuously variable transmission (CVT) has been extensively tested in Australia and will be available from early next year in the Subaru Outback 2.0 diesel. This is Subaru’s first diesel automatic.
While pricing has not as yet been confirmed, demand is expected to be high (up to 20 per cent of Subaru Outbacks sold are now diesel-powered) so customers can pre-order their new Outback 2.0 diesel from Subaru’s Australian dealers.
“We know there’s massive pent-up demand for auto diesels, particularly in rural and regional areas, so it’s a great opportunity for us to meet the needs of those customers,” revealed Subaru Australia chief Nick Senior.
