Trust Rolls-Royce to steal the show. Sure the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari were the stars of Geneva but consider this: the all-new two-door coupe Rolls-Royce (the Wraith) which is the most powerful ‘Roller’ to date which uses satellite guidance for its transmission.
How so?
Well under the bonnet is a 465kW.800Nm V12 engine driving through an eight-speed ZF transmission. Zero to 100km/h takes 4.6 seconds.
And the satellite guided transmission uses GPS mapping data to ensure selection of the correct gear. By processing the data of the road ahead, the system selects the most appropriate gear in advance (matched to the current driving style).
Styling is majestic of course with the Rolls-Royce Wraith adopting a bold, sporty profile with raked windscreen glass, ton-tone paint, a curvaceous rear and deeply recessed front grille.
Inside are the softest Phantom grade leathers and Canadel wood paneling. At night, 1340 miniature fibre optic lamps woven into the headliner give the impression of an open-air starry night.
Australian details will be announced later this year.
