Toyota has launched a running change for its top-selling Kluger mid-size SUV, adding extra features but cutting prices by up to $1,000.
No changes in the models – Toyota Kluger is still offered in KX-R, KX-S and Grande, all in either two-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive.
The entry-level Kluger KX-R five-seater now starts at $39,990 (that’s $1,000 less) while the range-topping seven-seat Grande is down to $60,990.
Externally, the new range is identified by a revised bonnet, grille, bumpers, front fenders, headlights, taillights, door mouldings and exterior ‘puddle’ lamps in the mirrors.
Inside are revisions to the centre dash and 50:50 split-fold for the third row seat in seven-seat models.
In addition, KX-R models score a rear spoiler, improved audio with Bluetooth and USB input plus new 17-inch alloy wheels.
KX-S goes down in price by $800 but adds perforated leather trim for first and second row seats and upgraded audio plus a chrome finish for the roof rails.
Grande price is down by $414 but it too gets the perforated leather plus revised woodgrain, 3.5mm AUX input for the sound system, chrome finish for the roof rails and new 19-inch alloy wheels.
Under the bonnet, output for the 3.5-litre V6 engine is unchanged but redesigned engine mounts deliver reduced NVH.
The full range is:
2WD AWD
KX-R 5-seat $39,990 $44,490
KX-R 7-seat $42,690 $47,190
KX-S 7-seat $50,990 $55,490
Grande 7-seat $60,990 $65,490
