Why wouldn’t you want a fire-breathing limousine?
Japanese luxury carmaker Lexus will be bringing a performance variant of its new flagship LS saloon to the 2017 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). Dubbed the LS500 F Sport, the range-topping high-powered model will “capitalise on the responsiveness and agility” of the new flagship Lexus, and will sit as the third option in the LS family.
The LS F-Sport models will be available in either turbo-V6 (as in the LS500) and hybrid-V6 (as in the LS500h), though it is hitherto unclear if it will offer any performance upgrades. The LS is already being touted as “the stiffest Lexus ever developed” owing to its ‘GA-L’ platform, though an uptuned version would certainly be a welcome alternative to the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG and BMW M760Li.
The LS500 F-Sport will likely see exterior and interior revisions to mark it out as a more performance-focused variant, and we would love to see the suspension setup see tuning to give the big Lexus even greater ability on the road. When you consider that Lexus is famous for eerily-quiet, pillow-soft, and entirely unhurried rides, the LS500 F-Sport might pull off the best Jekyll & Hyde act of all super-saloons if done properly.
Would you consider a Japanese luxury rocket like the LS500 F-Sport may be?
