Volkswagen’s excellent Tiguan small SUV has been boosted by the arrival of a sporty new range-topping variant in the form of the 155TSI R-Line.
Priced at $44,990 the Tiguan 155TSI R-Line is powered by the 155kW 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and gains an R-Line styling kit.
It’s more than just cosmetics with Tiguan’s new halo model riding on Volkswagen’s well-sorted Adaptive Chassis Control system.
As well there’s sports seats in Vienna leather (fronts heated), a beautiful ‘R’ sports steering wheel, satellite navigation paddle-shifters for manual gear changes, ‘R’ sports bodykit and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The R-Line kit is also available for 132TSI and 130TDI model Volkswagen Tiguans – at a price of $2,500.
Also capturing headlines for the updated Volkswagen Tiguan is the new 130TDI 2.0-litre turbo-diesel offering 130kW/380Nm and combined-cycle fuel consumption of 6.2l/100kms.
Across the range are standard reversing cameras and Volkswagen’s slick extended differential lock (XDL).
