New Jaguar XF Diesel Crosses Four Countries On One Tank

Delivering rear-world proof of fuel economy, a new Jaguar XF diesel has driven from Birmingham, Enngland to Munich, germany using just one tank of fuel.

Due for launch in September, the facelifted Jaguar XF, powered by the new 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine, used just 64 litres of fuel for the 1,313kms trip – an average of 4.9l/100kms.

Driven by independent test driver David Madgwick, the Jaguar XF diesel had 5,000kms on the clock before it departed castle Bromwich in Birmingham (England) and traveled over a mixture of road types in four countries before arriving in Munich/.

The new Jaguar XF diesel uses an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and is the first Jaguar to be fitted with fuel-saving auto start/stop.

As well as the new diesel powerplant, the facelifted Jaguar XF scores improved exterior looks, even more luxury and kit inside and extra refinement.
