Mitsubishi Australia has been successful in last-minute negotiations with its Japanese head office and has managed to price it ground-breaking i-MiEV electric compact under $50K at $48,800.
That price is for the latest 2012 model year Mitsubishi i-MiEV and is some 22.5 per cent under the sticker of the first model which was never sold publicly in Australia. The 2012 version gains standard stability control and side/curtain airbags.
Mitsubishi says the first shipment of i-MiEVs will arrive in August and will be sold from a handful of dealerships (one in each capital city). Buyers keen to secure the zero-emissions, all-electric compact car are advised to call Mitsubishi direct on 1300 13 12 11.
