“Exclusivity and premium customer value” on offer.
When you’re a company like Mini, who markets themselves and their cars as the most complimentary accessory to your style-driven lifestyle, it’s entirely logical to periodically release limited-run, limited-edition cars with unique exterior styling and interior spec. And that’s precisely what the quintessentially-British marque has done, with the Mini Cooper S Clubman Masterpiece, of which 30 will only be sold on our market.
“The Cooper S Clubman Masterpiece Edition brings an ultra-exclusive Mini experience. As well as a strong uplift in look and feel, thanks largely to considered inclusions taken from the Mini Yours personalisation programme, the Masterpiece Edition offers true exclusivity with its unique exterior and ‘one of 30’ collectability status. It’s an ideal halo for the Mini Cooper S family.” - Tony Sesto, General Manager, MINI Australia
The new Clubman is already a good-looking thing, and a favourite for those looking for a blend of looks and practicality. The Clubman Masterpiece is immediately marked out as a special edition thanks to its unique ‘White Silver’ metallic paint, complimented by “distinctive” 18-inch alloys in grey, also unique to the Masterpiece. Lots of the Masterpiece’s exterior bits are finished in gloss black, contrasting against the metallic white finish.
Inside, the Masterpiece treatment continues, mixing premium material and “key technologies.” The seats are finished in black and are electrically-operated up front, replete with heating, while alot of the interior trim pieces are finished in piano black, with contrasting chrome lines dotted around the place. There’s a sports steering wheel, black headlining, and quilted floor mats (that’s right, quilted floor mats).
All of this compliments the tech on offer inside. There’s wireless car charging, satellite navigation, 8.8-inch infotainment screen, AppleCarPlay, and a heads-up display.
And to finish it off? Every car gets a plaque in the engine bay recognising the limited edition nature of the Clubman Masterpiece.
While you’re in the engine bay, you’ll note that the Clubman Masterpiece is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, producing a comfortable 141kW and 280Nm. In this tune, the Clubman can hit 100km/h from rest in just 7.1-seconds, while fuel consumption is rated at juat 5.9L/100km. Transmission duties are meted out by an eight-speed automatic unit.
With just 30 available for our market and priced at $55,210 (excluding ORCs), will you be one lining up to get one of these ultra-exclusive family hatchbacks?
