Here’s the first look at the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class – the interior.
Clearly the all-new model is heading in a modern direction with cues from the just-launched A-Class hatchback and CLA sedan (lots of curves, round air vents and freestanding centre screen for starters). There’s also a new look for the steering wheel and instrumentation (again very similar to the CLA).
Centre console we can see the COMAND infotainment system with its finger-control pad. Mercedes-Benz says the all-new C-Class will score a head-up display and trim options including high-gloss piano black and timber.
We also hear the all-new C-Class will tips the scales at least 100kgs lighter than the current generation with 48 per-cent of the exterior made from aluminium (including front fenders, bonnet, doors, roof and bootlid).
Aluminium is also used in the front suspension (a new four-link independent design).
Word is the C-Class will inherit a lot of technology from the all-new S-Class range which is unveiled this weekend in Melbourne – including the windscreen-mounted camera system including a 360-degree parking camera.
Looks and sounds impressive inside. No appearance yet of any exterior pics.
