Mercedes-Benz have released details of the GLA 45 AMG, the new GLA 45 AMG sees AMG continue with 2.0 litre, four-cycliner, twin turbo engine, which can lay claim to the the most powerful series-production four-cylinder turbo engine in the world.
Producing 268kW and 450Nm of torque the baby SUV is by no means a run of the mill city car. Sprinting from 0-100km/h in only 4.8 seconds it can continue all the way up to a electronically limited 249km/h. It also has impressive fuel consumption of only 6.8 litres per 100kms.
Highlights of the power plant include:

• Weight-optimised crank mechanism with forged steel crankshaft
• Forged pistons with friction-optimised piston rings
• NANOSLIDE cylinder liner technology
• Air-to-water intercooling system
• Alternator management

Inside the GLA 45 AMG will off a similar level of refinement and sportiness that is seen in the A and CLA AMG's. Sport seats finished in leather and microfibre with red contrasting topstitching, helping complete the sporty look will be red seat belts. A three-spoke nappa leather multifunction sports steering wheel with red contrasting topstitching and steering-wheel shift paddles. The AMG instrument cluster with two-tube design and central colour display, AMG main menu and RACETIMER continues the sporty theme.
The interior can be upgraded with the following AMG optional extras:
• Exclusive package
• Performance steering wheel in black nappa leather/Alcantara® including E SELECT selector lever with embossed AMG emblem and electronic master key with AMG emblem, floor mats with embroidered AMG lettering
• Performance seats upholstered in Artico man-made leather/Dinamica microfibre for driver and front passenger, with more strongly contoured seat shape for enhanced lateral support and with integral head restraints, red designo safety belts
• Carbon-fibre trim
• Black, crystal grey, nut brown or black RED CUT upholstery
With the introduction of GLA 45 AMG, the AMG SUV line-up now extends to five models GLA 45 AMG, ML 63 AMG, GL 63 AMG, G 63 AMG and G 65 AMG.
