Australian pricing and specifications are revealed for the 10th-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
The all-new tenth-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213) sedan has not yet landed on Australian shores. But it will in July. When it does, it will be bringing with it upgrades all around in terms of luxury, refinement, technology and overall sophistication.
A lot more kit is now available as standard, but that has lifted the starting price considerably to $89,990 – which is around $9,500 more than the previous entry-level E-Class, the ninth-generation E 200. Across all the new E-Class’ variants, the equivalent offering from their German rivals are less expensive.
Professor Dr Thomas Weber, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and responsible for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development said: "The E-Class is the core of the Mercedes-Benz brand and in the past has repeatedly redefined the standards in the executive-class segment. Now it carries this tradition into the future with a wealth of top-class innovations. The new E-Class takes another major step towards autonomous driving. In addition, it enhances efficiency, safety and comfort, reduces the stress level when driving and intensifies the motoring pleasure."
Mercedes-Benz, then, seems to be confident that the premium their customers will see the value in their vehicles enough to fork out the extra cash. They say that the higher levels of luxury, fuel economy, technology, and safety clearly justifies the premium over not only of its immediate rivals, but of the previous car as well.
