‘AMG rocks NYC’ sounds like a spelling test but it’s true of the ‘pocket-rocket’ Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG which starred in the Big Apple.
The gorgeous compact four-door coupe runs the same 265kW/400Nm turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine as the A45 AMG – driving all four wheels via the AMG Speedshift DCT-7 transmission.
Zero to 100km/h takes just 4.6 seconds but fuel consumption is impressively low at 6.8l/100kms.
Underneath is tweaked AMG sports suspension and AMG allow wheels with 235/40 R18 tyres.
On the styling front the usual AMG touches are apparent – twin-blade radiator grille and front apron in matt titanium grey paint, black aero ‘flics’ and Bi-xenon headlights.
There’s also a unique rear-end apron and large diffuser (also in matt titanium grey) and twin exhaust tailpipes.
