‘The Race That Stops The Nation’ will stop prestige sedan buyers this year when Lexus unveils the stunning all-new Lexus LS 600h F Sport.
Lexus’ full-size premium sedan will be the most powerful hybrid so far with 327kW from its V8 petrol-electric hybrid system. And in a further technology achievement, the Lexus LS 600h F Sport will be all-wheel-drive.
And while the LS 600h F Sport will be the hybrid model star, other LS variants – LS 460, LS 460 F Sport and LS 600h L – will also be rolled-out following the Melbourne Cup and into 2013. When the LS 600h F Sport arrives, Lexus will have 11 F Sport models in its portfolio.
Lexus F Sport models boast numerous enhancements to boost their high-performance credentials, the LS 600h F Sport riding 10mm lower on sports tuned air suspension and adding 19-inch alloy wheels, unique sports bodywork, unique fog-lights and an F Sport mesh grille. Drivetrain changes are more than cosmetic – included are active stabilizer bar technology (first time in Australia), driver-select five-mode variable chassis tune and six-piston Brembo front brakes.
LS F Sport models also benefit from extra chassis stiffness – new body bonding technologies, stronger steel and additional bracing delivering a 60 per cent increase in body rigidity. Lexus says all-up the changes provide 20 per-cent improved steering feel and response.
The V8 hybrid takes just 6.3 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100km/h.
For the interior, you can tick two exclusive colour schemes, F Sport Sport seats, aluminium pedals and F Sport leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear lever.
Lexus says being “best of breed”, the all-new LS 600h F Sport will be a fitting star in its glamorous marquee at the Melbourne Cup Carnival. In fact this will be the 10th year of Lexus being a high-profile participant in the carnival.
