England’s annual Goodwood Festival Of Speed is becoming the annual global showcase of interesting new performance vehicles with Mazda the latest brand to roll-out something new – the MX-5 GT Concept.
Mazda says it will consider customer response to the MX-5 GT – sure to excite the thousands of MX-5 enthusiasts – before considering possible production.
Created by motorsport specialists Jota Sport, the Mazda MX-5 GT wrings 153kW from its naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre engine which drives through the standard six-speed manual transmission.
Underneath the suspension has been stiffened and features adjustability for track days while externally MX-5 fans will note a carbon front splitter, rear diffuser, boot spoiler and cenytral tailpipe for the modified sports exhaust system.
Inside are Recaro sports seats, some lightweight carbon fibre trim and body-colour roll hoops behind the seats.
