Mazda’s top-selling MX-5 has been named ‘Best Roadster’ for the sixth consecutive time in Britain’s Auto Express New Car Awards 2011.
In announcing the award, Graham Hope, Autocar’s Acting Editor said: “A short blast behind the wheel is all you’ll need to understand why the latest MX-5 is such a smash hit. For smiles-per-mile at an affordable price, nothing else comes close.”
Very impressive when you consider some of the rivals the Mazda MX-5 beat for the Autocar title – Audi TT, BMW Z4, Porsche Boxster and Lotus Elise were just some of them.
Two decades after the original MX-5 was launched, Mazda’s game-changing sports car remains the best-seller in its class and the benchmark other manufacturers strive to beat.
