Lamborghini Aventador Steals The Show

Lamborghini stole the ‘wow-factor’ award in Melbourne with the local debut of its Aventador LP 700-4 supercar.

The successor to the Murcielago, Lamborghini’s latest again shows its Audi lineage, driving its V12 engine via seven-speed Lamborghini transmission and all four wheels via a Haldex system.

Maximum power is of course stupendous – 515kW at 8250rpm - and peak torque of 690Nm at 5500rpm is tremendous, especially when you consider the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 weighs just 1,575kgs. Huge carbon-ceramic brakes (400x38mm fronts, 380x38mm rears) handle the stopping.

Chassis features a carbon fibre monocoque and the gloriously-styled bodywork highlights audacious air intakes and a massive front splitter. The gorgeous five-twin-spoke alloy wheels measure 19-inches at the front and 20-inches at the rear.
