Launching the all-new Kia Soul to the American media, Kia said an all-electric version is one the way.
Well it just makes sense – the Soul was always intended to appeal to city-based buyers and the swap to zero-emission all-electric power would be perfect in that environment.
Kia is keeping ‘mum’ on specific details but the company’s North American product planning chief, Orth Hendrick told assembled journalists: “Eco-consciousness already comes standard on the all-new Soul with 85 per-cent of its materials able to be recycled at the end of its lifespan, and the Soul EV will further demonstrate Kia’s engineering capabilities as well as our commitment to producing vehicles with reduced environmental footprints.”
Expect the all-electric Kia Soul to be unveiled later this year at the Los Angeles Auto show ahead of sales launch early next year.
