Kia has launched an updated range of its funky Soul model in Britain with a new direct-injection 1.6-litre engine, a freshened exterior and significant interior enhancements.
On the outside, the new Kia Soul runs new lights (front and rear with DRLs), revised front bodywork, new front bumper and wider grille with a new cube pattern which is copied into the new rear bumper (to create an extra wide look). The vertical rear lights now wrap onto the rear-side bodywork.
But the big news is under the bonnet, with the new direct-injection 1.6-litre petrol engine boosting power to 104kW. Improvements too for Kia Soul’s 1.6-litre turbo-diesel, but output remains at 94kW.
Kia Soul’s five-speed manual transmission has been replaced by a six-speeder and the diesel model’s four-speed automatic transmission has also gone six-speed.
Safety gets a boost too in the latest Kia Soul sold in the UK with incorporation of standard Vehicle Stability Management and Hill-Start Assist.
