Ford-backed viral video star Ken Block impressed the FPR team during a test of the Trading Post Falcon V8 Supercar at Melbourne’s Calder Park.
Block was initially tutored, riding in the passenger seat with FPR team drivers Mark Winterbottom and Will Davison before wheeling the Trading Post Falcon around the short Melbourne circuit for 12 laps.
Commenting on Block’s performance, Trading Post Falcon driver Will Davison said: “Our car is completely different to what he is used to and the style of driving is vastly different so I was impressed with how well he picked everything up.”
Tables were then turned as Davison and Winterbottom enjoyed some wild gymkhana rides in the passenger seat of Block’s highly modified Ford Fiesta RS before trying a few tricks themselves.
“That car is crazy – so quick, so nimble, just a brilliant machine. It was a shame to give it back as I could drive that all day. I tried a few of his tricks but the range of things he does is truly amazing,” Davison said after his Ford Fiesta RS experience.
The Block/FPR experience was undertaken by three professional race drivers in controlled conditions at Calder Park – never, ever try to emulate them in your car.
