The coronavirus pandemic has forced many of us to think outside of box for solutions to problems we never encountered in recent times. Ford Australia thinks it has a solution to the problem of people driving out to get their car fixed or serviced.
Patrons of the Blue Oval brand now have access to a new ‘Ford Pick Up and Drop Off service’ which is an initiative that offers customers a complimentary contactless car pick up and drop off solution. Please note too that this initiative is only available at participating dealerships until the 30th June 2020.
“The Ford Pick Up and Drop Off Service provides our service customers the reassurance they can get necessary vehicle work completed without leaving home, and the peace of mind that their vehicle is disinfected afterwards,” said Kay Hart, President and CEO, Ford Australia and New Zealand. “We’re pleased to be working with our dealers to find ways to ensure customers can continue to enjoy uninterrupted and safe services during this time.”
Yes, as mentioned, apart from servicing and fixing up the cars, customers who book in a service or warranty repair will have their cars thoroughly disinfected. Major touch points such as the steering wheel, centre console, gear shifter, parking brake handle, climate control vents, radio, touchscreen, start/stop button, driver’s door armrest, window/seat/mirror controls, rear view mirror, seatbelt buckle and anchor, rear boot lid and handle, bonnet and latch, fuel door and lastly the key fob, are all disinfected before the car is returned to its owner.
“We’re pleased to be able to offer extra convenience and peace of mind to customers during this difficult time,” added John Cooper, Chairman of the Ford Australia National Dealer Council. “These new services build on the strict hygiene and sanitation processes we’ve built in across the network.”
Ford Australia also goes on to clarify that the local Ford dealerships will be using an alcohol-based cleaner that’s not only anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral but also does not harm the plastics, elastomers and rubbers.
