Recalling the brand military manufacturing history, Jeep has released a special edition Wrangler ‘Freedom’ model.
Based on the Wrangler Sport 3.6-litre V6, the ‘Freedom’ model is priced from $35,000.
The bonnet and rear flank feature a ‘weathered-look’ Freedom Star decal symbolic of vehicles supplied to tactical units in the U.S. Armed Forces (coloured to match the chosen exterior paint).
That five-pointed star is also embroidered on the front seats.
You also get a front grille painted ‘Mineral Grey’, Rubicon rock rails, body colour wheel arch flares and a black Mopar fuel cap.
Inside are leather seats, silver-accented seat, steering wheel (leather-wrapped) and floor console stitching, Mopar slush mats and silver door grab handles.
And there’s the usual Jeep off-road agility thanks to CommandTrac all-wheel-drive and 223mm of ground clearance.
Prices are:
Two-door manual $35,000
Two-door auto $37,000
Four-door manual $39,000
Four-door auto $41,000
